A concise chronology of human history that covers 25,000 events and features coverage of the arts and sciences as well as of events in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Each of the seven epochs is divided into six columns whose categories vary from epoch to epoch, reflecting the dynamics and events of the period. The geographic columns trace the rise and fall of dynasties and political regimes, military and diplomatic actions, exploration, colonization, growth of trade relations, and other significant developments. The other columns, Science, Invention and Technology, and Religion, Culture and Arts, provide a sense of the intellectual and creative achievements of many diverse cultures at any moment in history.
