I have read most of the Blackbird Sister mysteries, but this so far was my least favorite. For some reason, the characters and twists in the plot became a bit confusing at times for me. I often had to backtrack to remember where the next chapter was heading.

All in all, still a good read and I'm definitely a Mick fan.

This series is a good mix of mystery and romance. Nora Blackbird and her sisters are quite the trio and their personalities couldn't be more different. But family is family and Nora seems the most level-headed of the group. She has a wide and varied circle of friends and acquaintances and the moment one of them, in this case her sister Emma, is in trouble she rushes to the rescue with seldom a thought for her own safety. The only time she is hesitant to rush headfirst into things is with her on-again-off-again bad boy, gangster connected boyfriend.
