This book is a great example of the 6by6 skills "Talk, Talk, Talk" and "Tell Stories about Everything." I like to read it during storytime and talk about the differences and similarities between Lola's experiences at her library and ours. For example, librarians no longer check out books and stamp them with a due date, but kids can check out their own books and get a fun stamp on their hand at the children's desk. Lola is a relatable character kids will love.

An older book,,, no stamping the due date anymore but still fun to read about the joys of getting a book from the library as a child

Really sweet and gentle read. Not a very fun/dynamic story as it feels more like a straightforward story for kids about about how to use the library.
