One of my favorite (remade) western films. I loved the dynamic between Bale and Crowe. A good western film to watch on a cold snowy night.

This is a very well made western. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe are both very good in their roles. The film poses some interesting philosophical questions about what motivates humans to do what they do.

This was a poor effort- " badly written " indeed! See the original for a better take on the classic Western.

This is a 2007 western directed by James Mangol.
It is a remake of the 1957 film of the same name, making it the second adaptation of Elmore Leonard's short story "Three-Ten to Yuma."
Although you must have a willing suspension of disbelief---especilly in the last shooting scenes, this wesnern is one of the best since "Unforgiven" directed by East Clintwood.

To me, this was like Prometheus or Braveheart, in the sense that I loved it the 1st time I saw it, due to awesome subject material, epic action scenes, cool costumes etc. But on a 2nd viewing, I realized how ridiculous, badly-written and unrealistic the whole thing is. I think it would've been better as a comedy. I totally didn't pick up on the "gay theme" mentioned in the comment below, so I'm not sure that's accurate. The thing I hate about most movies is that none of the characters are likable to me...My favorite character in this was the Train, and maybe the horses!

Don't really care about westerns, but this is a great film. The interaction between Bale and Crowe is epic, but best of all is Charlie Prince, one nasty fellow.

Interesting exploration of the relationship, and differing/conflicting values of the two men. One of Crowe's more complex acting jobs. The action surrounding the men is fairly standard for westerns.

An awesome remake !! ...And the Glenn Ford version is very worth revisiting.

I only have a few western movies in my collection and this is one of them. Besides the story, which is good, i was completely surprised by the audio on my HOMETHEATER! Of course i was expecting guns shots being that this is a western, but the sound made by the guns were very nice. I also like the gattlin gun and explosions. There was some very good sound effects of the bullets ricocheting in my surround speakers. But the story is very good and i enjoyed the characters. I'm giving this movie 4 stars. Very good story, good sound effects, and good acting. A large plate of spare ribs dipped in smoked barbeque sauce, mashed potatoes, carrots, peas, lettuce, cucumbers, celery, and a tall glass of ginger ale.
