A very good summation of the contemporary nuclear arena with quite interesting historical notes. The authors do seem to start out with a somewhat snarky attitude. They sober up a bit as the book moves along while still relaying some of the dark humor often associated with this subject. The writing is best when facts are relayed without much editorializing. Overall, the book is a valid entry point for the beginner "atomic tourist". I would recommend Tom Vanderbilt's "Survival City" for anyone wanting a deeper read.
