Using breakthrough reporting and interviews with long-silent sources, investigative journalist Russo and coauthor Molton have crafted a dramatic retelling of the time before, during, and after the JFK assassination. The book centers on the two opposed sets of brothers--the Kennedys and the Castros--who collectively authored one of modern history's most dangerous, and tragically ironic, chapters. Bobby Kennedy pushed for the murder of Fidel Castro and instead got the death of his beloved brother, a psychic blow from which he himself never recovered. Lee Harvey Oswald killed an admired president and traumatized a nation, but in so doing may have prevented a third world war. Built on thirty years of intense research--including discoveries so significant that they have rekindled CIA and State Department interest in the Kennedy assassination--this book provides extraordinary new facts that will force a reconsideration of how and why the Kennedy murder came to pass.--From publisher description.

[Regarding Russo's fictitious claim that Oswald murdered President Kennedy, please see Sherry Fiester's - - Certified Senior Crime Scene Investigator - - book, The Enemy of Truth, for the final word on such nonsense!]
If this total claptrap by Russo is garbage, is everything he has written garbage???
Reminds me somewhat of Bradley O'Leary, seemingly semi-logical rightwinger conservative disinformation dude, who posits why so many ignored the declassified CIA expulsion order on assassin, Jean Souetre [Documents #632-796] - - and when you track down the information which mislead many, namely that Michel Victor Mertz*** might have been impersonating Jean Souetre - - one finds said misinformation tracks back to Bradley O'Leary, stating that he had interviewed accomplished killer, assassin, prison escapee, possible drug smuggler and member of the paramilitary fascist group, the OAS, and that the information came from Souetre on Mertz???
***One can find Mertz's birth record, but then someone by that name dies at the age of six, six years later, and no further paper is to be found on Mertz - - obviously an alias of either French intelligence, Souetre and/or Maschkivitzan.
In other words, people like Russo, Bugliosi, Posner, et al., make completely unverifiable, impossible-to-substantiate, assertions, and they become the colossal amount of disinformation, when the simple facts are completely different!
Russo mentions that Mertz won the French Legion of Honor -- complete fiction, of course (although he does get several facts correct in the book) here is the list:
