Dismissed as a spent force in politics by the time he reached middle age, Ted Kennedy became the most powerful senator of the last half century and the nation's keeper of traditional liberalism. Drawing heavily from candid interviews with the Kennedy family and inner circle, "Last Lion" captures his life and historic achievements, as well as the personal redemption that he found.

I have read many books on the Kennedy's and enjoyed this one. There were a few surprises in the book such as a good relationship existing between Ted Kennedy and LBJ. Surprising since Bobby's relationship with President Johnson was so contentious.

The author did a great job of showing how hard Ted Kennedy had to work in order to run for and become a United States senator and Kennedy's decades of accomplishments in the US Senate. Of course, there is baggage to being Ted Kennedy and that is written about as well.
