I had no interest in seeing this until I caught it on HBO. Because I was only able to see the first half, and it made me laugh, I decided to watch it all the way through. Turns out that the first part of the movie is the only thing worth watching. Without giving anything away, this movie should have been done in the tradition of "Peggy Sue Got Married." In that film she is transported back to her high school days while at her high school reunion. She remembers everything from her adulthood, but has turned into a 17 year old. This film has Matthew Perry's character as an adult wanting to "do-over" his high school days. Only problem is that although he does turn into a 17 year old, he is now in the same classes (and yes, that includes a sex-ed class) with his daughter, who later in the movie tries to seduce him. Ugh... The movie started out funny, but went downhill from there. My guess is that these good reviews are solely for the admiration of Zac Efron. He does a pretty good job in the lead role, but this movie was very disappointing-and boring. I found myself checking the clock on the DVD player, trying to see how much time was left. Rent "Peggy Sue Got Married" or "13 Going On 30" instead.

17 Again is a cute romantic movie. It is about a guy named Mike O’Donnell who grey up playing basketball in high school and was up for a scholarship but left it all to marry his girlfriend who was also pregnant. as a few decades pass, Mike’s wife files for a divorce and he somehow turns into a teenager again and gets a second chance to relive his high school and it all starts what he chooses to do instead. I really enjoyed watching this movie because it also had comedy which was fun to watch. I rate this movie 5 out of 5. @BirdieBooks of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

This movie completely changed how I thought about Zac Efron. He moved from the annoying kid in High School Musical (course, which kid wasn't annoying in those movies?) to being a really funny actor. Ever since, I have been excited to see movies featuring Zefron, because he is a great actor. When he is in a comedy, he constantly makes me laugh out loud, and when he's in a serious movie he is just as great!

i have this movie i watched it at home then i brought this movie in to class one of my high school classes and everyone watched it then we had to write it down and the teaher said to me it is a good thing i brought this movie in cause we are learning about this so she was glad that i brought in this movie everyone liked it i really liked it too frist i wanted to barrow it it but a boy found it and barrowed it later i never seen it in the libarary so i bought it my own copy it is on t.v every year anyway so .

I love how he was given another chance in life to change his destiny, yet at the end, he still chose to make the same path he did when he was in high school. He chose the girl.

The movie Seventeen Again is about a man who is getting a divorce but is also in a way getting a chance to do his life over. Matthew Perry plays the grown up Mike O’Donnel, while Zac Efron plays the young Mike. He tries to help out his kids in any way that he can by becoming their friend. He then realizes that he’s still in love with his wife and he tries to get her back. This movie is great because there are many components to it. There’s comedy, passion, romance. Even his best friend from high school tries to help him and finds himself falling in love with his best friend’s (17 year old version of Mike) principal. This movie makes you realize that while you’re in high school everything little bad situation can feel like the end of the world, but family and good friends can help get you through them. Mike sees how different high school is now from when he was in it. So much has changed. The bullies have changed the girls have changed. Mike’s wife sees a great similarity between the young mike and how her husband used to look like in high school. He sends her subtle hints. When he finally realizes that he can’t and won’t let go of his wife he explains what he’s really feeling. This movie really hits the heart. It makes you realize that you should appreciate what you have because when it’s not yours anymore, it might be nearly impossible to get it back.
