Forget the title. This is a book about Herman Wouk.
Mr. Wouk is very much self absorbed - but likeable, as he wanders all over the map in this book, always back to himself.
There are a lot of interesting, if disconnected stuff here, but does get tedious as you wonder where he is going and how all this relates to his book title. The title is much more interesting than the entire book. In the end you know exactly what Mr. Wouk is interested in - himself.
