Rework shows you a better, faster, easier way to succeed in business.

Most business books give you the same old advice: Write a business plan, study the competition, seek investors, yadda yadda. If you're looking for a book like that, put this one back on the shelf.

Read it and you'll know why plans are actually harmful, why you don't need outside investors, and why you're better off ignoring the competition. The truth is, you need less than you think. You don't need to be a workaholic. You don't need to staff up. You don't need to waste time on paperwork or meetings. You don't even need an office. Those are all just excuses.

What you really need to do is stop talking and start working. This book shows you the way. You'll learn how to be more productive, how to get exposure without breaking the bank, and tons more counterintuitive ideas that will inspire and provoke you.

With its straightforward language and easy-is-better approach, Rework is the perfect playbook for anyone who's ever dreamed of doing it on their own. Hardcore entrepreneurs, small-business owners, people stuck in day jobs they hate, victims of "downsizing," and artists who don't want to starve anymore will all find valuable guidance in these pages.

Many ideas and thoughts are contrary to most ideology taught in Leadership. However if you take this book at face value, how to start a business there are many catalyst ideas presented to get you out there. Take what you want from the book at does give you a blue print that worked in their particular situation and at a minimum will give you 5-6 revelations to apply going forward.

Here is a business book written by software developers that like to work smarter not harder and keep things simple and agile. I especially enjoyed the graphics of the book which break up every chapter and give a visual overview of what is to come. It's a quick read and can add value to folks starting their own business of any size that need a unique perspective on how to make it happen.

A nice collection of short blog posts bundled into a book. Some ideas are interesting but only shallowly explore.

With some research each chapter could have been an amazing book.

Concise and to the point. I could not put it down until I was done and then I went out and purchased it

I am a big library user and don't often buy books - this one I will probably buy to have on my bookshelf. Very easy to read, lots of excellent, memorable quotes, and makes you think about how you work. It's focused on entrepreneur and small business but the ideas can be applied to a lot of different types of business or office work.
