Very good movie, that gave you an idea of what being a CIA agent just might be like. Well acted by Redford and Pitt, with a great storyline.

Am a big fan of Robert Redford, Brad Pitt and Tony Scott. Have seen this before but have been watching all of Tony Scott's movies since is passing.
I enjoyed this film and the suspense all through the movie. The interplay between the government and Redford's character was awesome.
The commentaries were excellet and gave you some great insights into the making of the movie.

Good spy movie. Great acting but the scene about the rescue is not believable.

An unusal spy film which presents a view that is not depicted often or at all. Good acting but not quite believeable story. Redford's character unethically saves an agent which he has taught in the ways of the CIA. Those ways do not include the actions which Redford's character uses to resuce his friend. However, it was entertaining.

If you ever considered a career with the CIA, you need to first watch this film. This is not a good story. I mean, the movie is good, but these people are not good. These are not the kind of people you want in your life. These people live in a pit of vipers. This is not a "nice" story. This is a story about lies, manipulations, calculated cowardice and just plain killing other people, guilty or otherwise. The "right" or "wrong" is beside the point. If they have to lie to you to get you to hurt someone who's done you no harm, they'll do it. And if it suits them to let you sit and rot somewhere, they'll do that, too.
Just because they work in a big white building in Virginia doesn't make them "the good guys". They're not the good guys. And they never were.
