I was excited in the beginning, stayed alert to spectate M.R.'s inner and outer world, being tousled around many events and personal dramas, and yet, not confused by reality and psychic realm.
But gradually the mystery lost thrilling appeal, horror, still gruesome, no longer haunting. Mudwoman's credibility to become first female president of IV league school became less convincing. The writing also reduced to overdramatizing to entice cheap thrill. Though it's easy to follow the central theme, development of too many characters intertwined in too many stories weaken the impact and loosen the structure.

Not the best JCOates I've read but enough depth and layering to be thought provoking.
