I wish the Edmonton Public Library had Lindy Smith's instructional DVD, so that you could use both this book and the DVD in conjunction to try some of these projects with confidence. Some of the awesome ideas highlighted in this book is how to be use your crafty skills outside of cake decorating (i.e. making stencils and molds). This book might be a little overwhelming for beginners, but it is an inspiring book nonetheless!!

I could flip through this book all day! Some of it is silly, like the idea of putting beads and wire in the cake (Which is all fine and dandy, but a book dedicated to cake decorating should be mostly edible, and also the beaded decorations don't look that great.)

The rest of the decorations are superb, though. I knew nifty things could be done with fondant, but I was really blown away by the pictures in this book.
