This was a real bad movie. I can't believe it made it into dvd format. Dull, slow, no real plot. Might have been better as a 15 minute short with most of it shot in the natural pool where the girl shows her boobs. Other than that, it just plain sucked.

I love this film. It's one of the very few films that I've enjoyed watching more than once; in this case it's been three times. The scenic shots are artfully done and the human interactions rich and believable. It's certainly not an action- shoot-em-up story; all the action is in the relationships between the characters, which I find highly absorbing to watch. This contemplative, low key story provides a taste of a foreign culture and a cross-cultural love affair whose haunting atmosphere might well stay with you for days.

Agree with btmslt, should edit out a lot of the uninteresting scenic shots. It is a romantic chance encounter between two travelers who both yearned for intimacy and independence. Much of the theme seemed to me was about a person's life long journey (see quotes).

A somewhat interesting but very (too much) slow. This should have be editted to a shorter movie.

Storyteller: As the journey eked on they took to walking in an outward-facing circle, taking turns moving forward, backwards, and sideways. With supplies supportability low, the direction wheel whirled into a small unnamed town where it finally spun out and scattered. The small plot of land in which they had arrived was fenced off. It remains blank on every globe, every atlas, in every roaming heart.
