From Library Staff

"We love Jan Thomas! Silly, silly, silly! This book requires a twangy cowboy-drawl sing-songy voice when read. What’s not to love about that?" Recommended by Lynne.

I was concerned that the Cowboy's eeks would get the kids pumped up. Instead I found the story to be super effective to calm and quiet kids and the lullaby words work well to the tune of Rock-a-bye baby.

This is my go-to for a fun, interactive read-aloud book for kids ages 4-8. Don yer cowboy hat and let your silly side shine, pardners! Pairs well with the song (or flannel story to up your ante) "Alice the Camel."

It's funny because the cowboy gets scared all the time. ~Mizuki, age 5

My daughter and I LOVE this book. She especially likes the EEEEKKKK! parts. This is a fun book and we have a love/hate thing going with turning it back in. We'll miss it a lot, but hope you'll love it as much as we do. "And now it's time to saaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy ..... Good night!"

Another winner from a great author! Works well for a cowboy or bedtime themed storytime.
