wow the CGI is ranged from super amazing to terrible in this film.
I am kind of dissapointed after seeing the trailer.

Watched this movie after I went home sick from work...lots of CGI, some totally dorkballs plot devices (cutesy talking mouse demon?), but certainly not a waste of time if you're in the mood for it. The entire cast is beautiful; the languorous, giggly frolicking of snake-girl sister demons in the forest was pretty awesome, as was the straight-up girly fox-demon booty show (lots of pretty women turning into various animal demons in this one). To push a subtle point I also enjoyed the features & principles of folk Buddhism filtered through a fantasy adventure sensibility, the same way you get a bizarre, highly stylized version of Catholicism from the Nightmare on Elm Street series, for instance. Enjoyed it! CR

Thank you soooo much for that charming and informative review of Bai she chuan shuo!!!!That is three minutes of my life well spent(not to mention the additional five minutes I spent om this utterly necessary response. The next time you feel the urge to put your thoughts down in a review, think hard and then don't do it.

More of a fantasy than a martial arts film, this movie had poor special effects and didn't make full use of Jet Li. Contrary to what the cover and posters may make you think, he is not the main character. Not bad, not great, nothing to write home about.

The visual effects are stunning,.. but the actual story is not so much. Also, I feel that 'magical wire-work' has been overdone, and now has little to add to anything.

I'm not one for foreign films since I hate reading subtitles because it can take away from the movie. But this is a must see! Jet Li is phenomenal!

The library goofed on my account & made it so I couldn't check anything out for a week. Then after telling me that they would hold this item until they fixed their mistake, I get to the library to find out they already re-shelved it & gave it to the next patron. Not only did Maggie, the head of circulation, fail to call me back & tell me that she fixed her error, I wasn't told that she also forgot to hold my item. Here goes the waiting game again!

My goodness, horrible movie! Should've known better. Don't bother unless there are absolutely nothing worthwhile to watch. Even watching paint dry is more exciting.

Horrible. Poor acting, poor use of special effects, and super poor script.
