I thought the book was engaging, smooth, factual. I've also read, These Is My Words,
and enjoyed it very much. Turner knows how to write, and I'm happy to read her work.

I loved Turner's Sarah Agnes Prine series and wondered if I'd like this as much since what drew me to those books was the Arizona setting. I thoroughly enjoyed this new book and now see that Turner is able to draw you into a well-crafted historical narrative no matter the era. The pace of the first half is intense and then slows down considerably once Resolute settles in New England. Hang on, though; it's worth sticking with it to the end.

This is a wonderful story about Colonial America from a woman's perspective.

An excellent surprise and a definite read for any lover of historical fiction, particularly for those fascinated by the American Revolution.

Although this book is over 600 pages, it engages the reader from the beginning. There are few books that I read that could easily translate into a screenplay. This is one of them. The characters are believable. The author is engaging and the story is historical fiction set in a time of our nation's beginning. I recommend this book highly and hope to see it make the silver screen.

Wonderful book. Life just prior to the American Revolution and beginning of resistance.
