I'm an adult and found this book adorable.
SUMMARY: Clement the bunny is surprised by his friends coming over for a pajama party. They do all the fun things they can think of to do including playing silly games, jumping on the bed and some late night yoga. After a snack, they begin to wind down and get ready for bed. Maggie (parent or caretaker?) puts the little ones into bed, tells them a story, and asks them to list all the things they were thankful for during the day before they drift off to sleep.
ILLUSTRATIONS: The illustrations were created primarily in watercolor and are reminiscent of the cartoon strip the author creates called, MUTTS. The characters and details felt very small on the page leaving quite a bit of white space.
THE GOOD: Pajama parties are a fun topic. Listing all the things they were thankful for at the end of the story was a nice way to drift off to sleep.
THE NOT AS GOOD: As far as bedtime stories go, this one was rather mediocre. There was no clever dialogue or activity. There were tiny blips of humor, but not enough to bring more than a twitch of the lips. The illustrations were not very interesting for this age group being more conducive to a comic strip rather than a picture book. After seeing the cute title and cover, I was expecting much more.
AGE RECOMMENDATION: AGES 3-6
