Two raging grannies on their mobility scooters travel from Seattle to Wall Street on a quest to find out whether perpetual economic growth is possible. These two grandmothers aren't so much raging as barely ambulatory. Skip the main feature, go directly to the bonus material for the 4-star/90-minute reason to check out this DVD: Physics professor Albert Bartlett calmly deals with the grannies' annoying interruptions while delivering a spectacularly understandable explanation of exponential growth, along with examples of how sustained, continual growth permutes, and where it eventually must lead, whether economic, biological or otherwise. On the other hand, the main feature answers no questions. Rather, it simply showcases some of the grannies' cute and confrontational antics, and some of the sideways looks, disdain, and outright venom they foment in their wake. I wonder if the New York security thug ever found out he was filmed and recorded. Yes indeed, people just like him really do exist in the real world. Four stars for the bonus material, otherwise two stars for the feature.

Felt a bit misled by the blurb for the film; I thought they were going to travel across and throughout the U.S. to get their point across/stir up trouble. I don't think these ladies can get up to the level of "raging" anymore. Slept through most of the film. Put off by their interrupting of a lecturer whose class they were auditing to get economic answers. Could they be part of the Scooter Mafia? I don't recall seeing them stand (as they are on the cover) unassisted for very long. Skip it.

Hinda and Shirley are concerned about the economic future of their grandchildren and set off on an adventure to understand "growing the economy" and to figure out what they can do to help ensure a stable situation. Also, an unintended yet powerful look at how this country treats the elderly. One even has her life threatened for asking questions that were inappropriate for the venue they were in. Pretty interesting.
