Wagner's art matches his storytelling: two-dimensional, blocky, and irregular. His take on the first meeting of old pals Batman/Superman with Wonder Woman can be boiled down to "ooh pretty." There were no real insights, no indication that Wagner actually understood any of the characters he borrowed for this arc (including the antagonists). I could have forgiven this under the excuse of writing a story for younger readers, were it not for the inclusion of a gratuitous bathing scene wherein Bruce channels his inner Trump with Diana.

I can't recommend this for anyone.

A good take on the first formal meeting of the Trinity- Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman- at least in the pre- New 52 reality. Matt Wagner's story shows initial misunderstandings and mistrust before the trio join forces to deal with a mutual threat. Wagner handles the characters very well indeed, giving us a new look at familiar faces.
