"What's in a name? Everything, if you share it with the Man of Steel! Superman: Secret Identity collects the critically lauded miniseries written by Kurt Busiek (JLA/Avengers, Astro City) with stellar art by Stuart Immonen (Superman: End of the Century, Thor). Set in the real world, Secret Identity examines the life of a young Kansas man with the unfortunate name of Clark Kent. All Clark wants is to be a writer, but his daily life is filled with the taunts and jibes of his peers, comparing him to that other Clark Kent--the one with superpowers. Until one day when Clark awakens to discover that he can fly...that he does in fact have super-strength! But where did these powers come from? And what's he going to do about it? This volume collects issues #1-4 of the critically acclaimed miniseries"-- Provided by publisher.

Everyman story which protagonist cursed with same name as iconic character unexpectedly get superman powers.
Story & drawings equally good because writer & artist gently mocked DC comics & it was in real time unlike most comics book titles out there.
Huge story twist at the end.

The entire story is written in point of view of Clark Kent and in real time which gives it a unique, introspective experience. Coupled with the often exhilarating artwork, this is one of the best Superman graphic novels out there.

A curious variation on the Superman mythos, in which a young man in a world where superheroes exist only in comic books discovers his extraordinary powers. This limited series starts well but chooses to remain at a human scale rather than raise the dramatic stakes. The Deluxe Edition is printed at a slightly larger size on high-quality paper, which showcases the spectacular penciling and coloring by Stuart Immonen.
