I think we've all known a manipulative person like this. The ending was quite unexpected.

Charlie, senior(?) high school girl with asthma, meets new comer Sarah and they become the closest of friends. Both have mothers with serious problems, one with a disorderly husband, the other with a severe alcohol(?) problem. “Breathe” I suspect is a metaphor for the difficulty of the two girls to live and breathe freely because of the problems of the mothers. I also suspect that a second viewing of the film may reveal a lot of what was missed in the first viewing. And maybe not. Maybe life is not that simple.

They held you in suspense and made you wonder what or why. The ending is not what I suspected.

Tired of routine Hollywood movies? Try this French film for something different. It's one of the best movies I've seen for a long time!

This is a great film about a teen friendship gone wrong. We've seen this story before, but it never devolves into cliche. The characters and plot stay fresh. It's full of suspense that will make you wonder what will happen next. I chewed off a couple nails during the film.
