Children first see words as a jumble of squiggles and lines that don't really look exactly like pictures...until, suddenly, a new world opens up as they begin to recognize letters. A delightful story about learning to recognize letters and the sounds they make.

A good read aloud with detailed illustrations that show how a young child begins to make sense of print through his powers of observation -- ideal for sharing with kids who may have apprehensions that reading is daunting.

A very cute story with simple, bold illustrations.
