A real disappointment.

If you didn't grow up in this era, it is very difficult to understand the genre presented in this movie. This was an awesome movie with a dynamite soundtrack if you were a teen in 1983.

While this is a very very bad movie, did I mention it was bad, I didn't see any rape in it. Unless you mean Nicolas Cage having sex in the club's bathroom with his willing ex-girlfriend while he was drunk. Other than that the only "sex" scenes were by consent. But once again, this was a very very BAD movie.

I hate this film. I truly think it's awful. I was somewhat pleased to find it, only to be utterly disappointed with it in an immense way. It was so bad. I cannot commend it at all. It treats topics like rape with a heavy hand; it's disgusting, in that sense. The film itself is poorly acted and its story (which is supposed to be an adaptation of Romeo and Juliet) is so awfully crafted and executed that the whole ordeal may soar right over your head. The tacky Valley Girl speak didn't even bother me; it was, scarily, the least awful part of the film. I don't recommend it for anyone; I can't think of any audience that would appreciate it.
