The Jeff Goldblum cameo was fantastic. The film has both high and low points. Everybody got to be in it and it was culturally of its time. Even Paul Simon got a part...(Garfunkle was a better actor).

the late, lamented Laurie Bird sparkled in this one, before od-ing in her boyfriend's apartment, on Valium. Her boyfriend was Art Garfunkel.

GOOD 1977 film written, directed and starring Woody Allen as he expanded his film artistic style. Some interesting somewhat exploratory film techniques timewise, memory/flashbacks, etc. Some of the film was a bit whacky and not all of it worked for me.
Fun to see Diane Keaton in her role which won her the 1978 Academy Award for Best Actress. Overall the film was nominated for five and won four awards somewhat surprisingly instead of Star Wars.

Some scenes drag on and the editing was a little wonky between scenes as well. But I did like some of the filming techniques..they were definitely different from anything in the late 70s.

I keep watching Woody Allen's movies, hoping for another Annie Hall. Most don't even come close to this Best Picture Oscar winner. Some of my favorite parts are Christopher Walken as Annie's brother, the spider scene and the flashbacks to Alvy's childhood. Blink and you'll miss Jeff Goldblum, Sigourney Weaver and Beverly D'Angelo. The film is rated PG.

I was excited to see this movie, as it is a classic; but I didn't enjoy it at all. I thought there were some very clever lines from Woody Allen, but I didn't care for the characters or the story.

One of my top 5 favorite films-- full of clever details and subtle (& not-so-subtle) humor. A delight!

This was one film I've been telling myself I'd watch for years, and finally got around to. I can say it was mostly what I was expecting: the overly insecure, neurotic, self-deprecating Jewish guy whining about relationship problems; i.e., Woody Allen's routine schtick. I didn't hate it, in fact, I DID enjoy it. Diane Keaton was young and beautiful and her rendition of "Seems Like Old Times" was quite impressive.

After more than 30 years it is still a great entertainment.

Alvy Singer (to Annie Hall): "A relationship, I think, is like a shark, y'know? It has to constantly move forward or it dies. And I think what we got on our hands is a dead shark."

Alvie: There's an old joke. Uh, two elderly women are at a Catskills mountain resort, and one of 'em says: "Boy, the
food at this place is really terrible." The other one says, "Yeah, I know, and
such ... small portions." Well, that's essentially how I feel about life. Full of loneliness and misery and suffering
and unhappiness, and it's all over much too quickly.

Annie: "La-dee-da, la-dee-da"
