Children LOVE this book, and ask for it to be read over and over. Great illustrations too.
I was initially bummed by this Julia Donaldson book as it doesn't visually draw in you like her other books (Gruffalo, Room on the Broom, etc...). After reading it with my son and seeing his reaction to the story and how much adores this book my mind has been changed. This is a delightful story and is another Donaldson masterpiece. The illustrator, Helen Oxenbury, most notable know for her illustration of 'We're going on a bear hunt' (another favourite in our household) creates magic with her drawings. It is a truly magical book with the stand out character being 'Mama Frog' who is braver than them all and willing to come face to face with the 'Giant Jumperee'. It has become a favourite in our house leading to some amazing imaginary play outside!
Perfect for storytimes.
Great storytime read aloud! Anticipation builds and the ending does not disappoint.
Short, sweet...with a story and emotions that very young readers (or listeners) can relate to and parents will enjoy. The illustrator, Helen Oxenbury, gives this excellent book its frosting and makes it rate 5-Stars.
A cute, silly story. I love when books have interesting end papers, and this one definitely does. The story rhymes and is bound to get at least a few giggles from littles.
