This is one of the best movies I have seen in 2019 it made me definitely think and you would think with the plot that they've laid down and the lack of Gore and any real great special effects! When Supernatural things start happening they creep you out without grossing you out!!! And you would think you would be bored to tears but instead I was glued to the television set!!! Until it's final amazing scene !!! In which I cried like a little girl!!! And it's not really a tearjerker, it is a finding yourself kind of movie and it was utterly fantastic SO please all I can say is give yourself a break sit-down get yourself a cup or coffie or a drink whatever floats your boat ,even burn one IF THATIS WHAT YOUR INTO!!! and watch this movie!!! 5 STARS out of 5 STARS! Definitely fantastic and worth your time nuff said AND BY THE WAY ,you might need a tissue!?

The majority of the film was a bore to me except for the ending.

This movie started out well tense and atmospheric and in the middle it just petered out and by the end it didn't make any sense at all. It could have been a great movie but the writers failed it. I wouldn't recommend it.

I liked the movie. The film was made in Europe (England?) so don't expect an Americanized version of spookiness. Scary? Well, maybe; but the message at the end is what keeps you in your seat. Reminded me of the movie 'The Sentinel' from the 1970's .

I was very impressed with this stark, moody and mysterious movie. The plot and story is not standard scary movie fare, but delves deeper into the occult and the psychological forces of people willing to sacrifice so much to reach their ends. This is a movie of slow intense build up as you begin to understand the two characters. Two people locked into a remote estate home for months together, working through grueling rituals and hard work of the Abramelin Procedure. This movie was a much better researched movie into historical occult practices than the usual drivel of pretty witches with red eyes saying a couple of latin words to great effect. The actors created complex characters with both black and white in their souls. The score by Ray Harmon was spacious with unusual sounds and dark timbres, frightening because you really are not sure what you are hearing, demons or creaking wood timbers?
The script tells the audience what the characters want, yet when it arrives it is a surprise to all.

A mother longing for her brutally murdered son endures love, love lost, tragedy, forgiveness and the willingness to do anything to make it better. Well acted with only 2 main (Irish) actors. I googled IMBD and was surprised how little information they had on these actors. I was hoping to see more features. Sometimes the “somber atmospheric music, somber organ music,, faint scrapes and creaks, and dark atmospheric music” was a little much. Could have done with a little less of the walking slowly down the dark hallways. !
