Wonderful book with historical content to give context as to Missouri during the Civil War at the beginning of each chapter.

Great historical fiction. Also a good look at the Civil War from the viewpoint of those caught in the middle.

I read this "Enemy Women" over a year ago and forgot the books name but I kept remembering what an awesome, well written story this was. I just couldn't forget it. Now I'm going to read it again. All parts were captivating but the journey home was especially poignant and determined at the same time. Wonderful book!

A revelation. Who knew what the civil war was to the people overrun by the competing armies? This story draws you into the utter waste and craziness of it all. Exerts from historical documents bring great references to real people and events.

Another NPR recommendation that I finally read.

An amazing story of the craziness of war.

Also shows the bravery and strength of human character that can help us overcome almost anything.
