Really fun, fast, relatable read. Shay is a lovable narrator, and her friends add some great sub-plots. I really like the poetry format, though there are times when it was a bit choppy or fast-paced, and thus created some confusion over what was going on. Some of the big moments in the book just needed to slow down to really feel the weight of it, but the poetic format brushed through it so quickly that I had to go back and re-read. I LOVED the texting portions. Shay and Godot were hilarious and adorable, and I rooted for them so hard. This book went by so quickly that I wish it had been longer. There was plenty of tension in the plot, but it did run on some old tropes (there were many parallels to "A Cinderella Story"). Overall, I really enjoyed it and I'm sad it's over. It was exactly the fast and easy read I needed.

Its a solid book about an overweight teenager dealing with life. Mature content. Some reviewers don't like poetry and so gave this book poor reviews based soley on that. I personally loved the style of writing. If you receive this book and you don't like poetry, just put it back on the shelf. It will be a shame to miss out on the goodness of the book, but that is what happens when you literally judge book by cover.
