From Library Staff

For Sergeant Adam Schumann, the process of leaving combat back in Iraq was as seemingly simple as getting on that plane. But standing on the tarmac again in the arms of loved ones would turn out to be merely a first step in the long journey of actually returning home.

This is the best movie about war I have seen. My dad suffered from being at Pearl Harbor, and my brother from 2 terms in VietNam. Dad had PTSD back in the day when they call it a nervous breakdown. The effects of these wars on veterans & families are Real. Actually this movie helped me be thankful my dad & bro got to a good healing, though not perfect. This movie helped me. Thanks for being real with what goes on.

Great movie to show how difficult these young men have it once they get back home.

I give this movie 3 1/2 stars for effort. It's mission was to show how difficult it can be for veterans to get the help they need for PTSD, etc. Miles Teller did a pretty good acting job; showed some dramatic range of emotion.

Wasn't as good as it could have been. This is an important subject matter and deserves attention but I felt like this effort was disjointed and jumped ahead after certain events happened without really exploring the consequences of those events. I don't want to give away spoilers but I was left wondering how these men got from the low points shown in the film to the people they were in the epilogue.

A heartbreaking look into what our veterans go through after they come home and just how hard it is for them to get the help they need.

A true and honest insight into what warriors go through to fight for our freedom. America has not treated them well during or after their service. Or even with much concern until we elected Donald J. Trump as POTUS.

How can we hand their loved ones a folded flag and say, "from a grateful nation..." when we have been so unkind, uncaring, and disrespectful to the warrior? We must do better in the future than we have in the past. This movie shows us why.

This is a movie for anyone thinking of joining the military and all Americans that appreciate those who serve to see.

Gives an understanding what service men and women go through when they return.

This movie was okay. I feel like the editing was a bit wonky and it could've gone deeper into what these soldiers deal with when they come home. I really like Miles Teller in serious roles like this one, so he was probably the best part of the movie for me. If you are a fan of his you should see it!
