Overgard is a resourceful yet increasingly desperate man stranded in a remote, snow-covered wilderness. After a plane crash in an icy wasteland, Overgard must live by his wits as he waits for help to arrive. But when a long-awaited rescue effort fails, he faces a life-or-death decision: remain in the relative safety of his camp and hope to be found or embark on an arduous trek that may be the only hope for both him and a critically injured stranger.

Add a dash of imagination (your own---what a concept!)---and watch an entertaining yet brutal saga of a man in a hostile environment fight to survive. The lack of dialogue only adds to the intrigue. Mads M. crushes this.

An exceptional movie about survival, especially in a hostile environment!

I would like to start with a quote from another movie: "A man reduced to a single instinct: survive" - George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road".
"Arctic" is an intense movie, well acted, thrilling. It is important to mention that movies today rarely get done so much with so little, so in that respect, Arctic gets top marks. Sometimes I think that today (2019), the only way to make audiences happy at the movie theater is to spend $356 million USD in CGI and special effects. Arctic goes the other way, boiling down a human situation to the basics, and I think it is very successful at doing so.

You can turn your audio off for this movie because there is no dialogue, unless you like the sound of grunts and moans because that is all you will hear. Unexplained beginning and strange ending but the body of the story was interesting with his survival skills.

Solid acting, believable story and a very basic plot....just ok.

WOW...this was one to work the imagination...wonderment...a "What would you do under the same circumstances?" when some things appear to not be adding up. Thriller for sure.

Even the vaguest of answers to a blizzard of intuitive questions would have made this movie less frustrating. Who was Overgard and why had he been stranded in a wrecked plane for weeks? Why was the couple, presumably married, in a helicopter flying over the frozen wilderness? And why did they have a map, but Overgard didn’t? There isn’t a lot of riveting dialogue to fascinate. Just snow, howling wind and snow, snow and more snow. Sigh.
