I tried to reach the 100 page mark, but man, I couldn’t bring myself past page 50 or so...DNF. :(, I’m so disappointed. The concept seemed so interesting; I love the idea of a Greek mythology translated into the twisted world of reality TV seemed incredibly innovative. So kudos to Roberson for putting that out there.
But, unfortunately, the entire book fell flat for me. The dialogue was unbelievably stilted and unrealistic, which immensely hindered my enjoyment of the book. Additionally, most of the main characters had maybe...1 or 2 differentiating traits each, which made for something of a personality void The world-building was also incredibly sparse, and I had difficulty imagining the world that the characters interacted with. Again, the concept was incredibly creative, but it fell victim to poor execution.

A modern take on the classic story of Ariadne, Theseus and the Minotaur. A little graphic in parts, but an overall enjoyable read.

Mythology, but make it modern. I love this. Take the Theseus and plop him into The Labyrinth Contest, a star studded reality TV show featuring not only the 14 competitors and their drama, but also Kardashian like sisters and the odd one out, the key to it all, shy Ariadne. This one was good, easy to read. There’s a little bit of suspended belief, as often with mythology retelling, but I liked this one.
