The Koontz Jane Hawk series is very entertaining, technically challenging, and exciting, making the books very hard to put down. They are captivating to the point of one easily believing the technologies he has invented and the capabilities of the characters within the framework of the progress of the overall theme he has developed and continues to modify throughout the series. Everything is believable and a little frightening when one thinks about where we are in a rapidly developing technological world - could something like this really happen? If it does, we readers of the series will have an advantage in that we have 'been there before"......! The final novel continues the saga started and pursued throughout the series, but is a little anti climatic in that the heroin, Jane Hawk, never confronts the master mind of the nano technology meant to enslave the world population to his envisioned "better world". The use of the nano-tech itself to bring it all down is a brilliant end to the series by Dean Koontz. Although I wished for more heroics from Jane Hawk - the indomitable and clever pursuer of the misguided perpetrators, the end was very satisfying.
