1000 Books Before Kindergarten: March 2026

When your child tells you something, ask them questions that don't have "yes" or "no" answers. These are called open-ended questions, and they give young children a chance to build their storytelling skills, which will come in handy when they learn to read. Use this list to read and question your way to 1,000 books before kindergarten.
