Sinister-Slash-Cozy: A List In Honor of Edward Gorey

Edward Gorey was a writer, costume designer, and artist. 2025 is the 100th anniversary of his birthday. Gorey's curious drawings and creations have captivated generations. Gorey is quoted as saying, "My favorite genre is the sinister-slash-cosy. I think there should be a little bit of uneasiness in everything, because I do think we're all really in a sense living on the edge. So much of life is inexplicable." Here is a list of content by or about the one and only Edward Gorey, who continues to inspire artists to this day. (Also included are some titles that remind me of Edward Gorey's style.) *In the quote cozy is spelled cosy because that is how it is spelled where I saw the quote printed in Houghton Library (more info linked at the end of the list).
